UFRES and the NJ ASK
The NJ ASK is a skills assessment given to students in 3rd and 4th grade to measure how well they are achieving the Core Curriculum Content Standards. The standards are in the following areas: Language Arts Literacy (including Reading, Writing, Speaking, Listening, and Viewing), Mathematics, and Science. On March 10, 11, 12, 2008 third grade students will take two days of Language Arts Assessments and one day of Mathematics Assessment. On March 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 2008 fourth grades students will take two days of Language Arts Assessments, two days of Mathematics Assessments, and one day of Science Assessment. The NJ ASK should be a rewarding experience for children; it provides useful information about your child's knowledge and skill. Parents can help students prepare for the NJ ASK by making sure they eat well and get plenty of sleep. Additional information can be found on the internet at http://www.state.nj.us/education.
