Athletics - Allentown High School currently offers many interscholastic sports. All incoming freshmen are eligible to compete for positions on the varsity level squads; however, most sports also offer both junior varsity and freshmen teams. Sports offered at AHS are: Baseball, Basketball, Cheerleading, Cross Country, Field Hockey, Football, Golf, Lacrosse, Soccer, Softball, Tennis, Track & Field, Wrestling. |

Book Club - the book club was formed at the request of students who enjoy reading and talking about the books. Monthly meetings center around discussing the text and questions that arise about the plot and themes within the works being read. Authors under consideration include Jodi Picault, Sarah Dessen. Book club members will be finishing reading Sue Monk Kidd's novel The Secret Life of Bees over the summer. Join us in September for an in depth discusson of the novel. |

Color Guard - is an organization of students who twirl flags, rifles and sabers, perform dance routines and travel with the band in local, state and national events. Students meet after school to learn routines. The Color Guard is an integral part of the band. Any student is eligible to participate. |

English Honor Society - prompts excellence in the area of language arts. Students who attain a B/ A average in their English classes throughout high school are eligible to apply for admission at the end of their sophomore year or junior year. Students are active in community service as well as promoting the language arts through activities such as the annual Poetry Slam at Barnes and Noble, assisting with the middle school newspaper, and collecting story books for children being assisted by Angel's Wings. |

F.F.A. - a national organization for students. Enrollment in the Allentown Chapter is automatic when you take an Agricultural Science class. The Chapter pays your annual dues to the National FFA Organization so that you may participate in trips, scholarships, awards, make new friends from around the country, and reap many other rewards of the FFA membership. Extra credit is assigned for participating in FFA related activities. |

French Exchange Program - The French Exchange Program was started in 1988. French students from Allentown High School are eligible to travel to our sister school, Lycee du Noordover, in Dunkerque, France and study French language, history, and culture for 10 days. While the Allentown students are in Europe they will travel to Paris, Brugge, Brussels, and London as part of the program. All French Students are eligible for this program after successfully completing French 2. |

French Honor Society - Students are eligible for French Honor Society if they maintain a 90 average in French and are active in community and school activities. The students cannot have any demerits! The French Honor Society is active in community activities and has been asked to participate in both Upper Freehold Community Day and Millstone Community Day in the preparation of French food. |

Jazz Band - called "Birds in Flight," performs in national competitions and state competitions. The band provides an annual Jazz Show at the High School entitled "On the Town." A student must be a member of the Symphonic Band and Marching Band to be eligible for participation in the Jazz Ensemble. |

Knitting Club - The Knitting Club is open to all students with little or no experience with knitting. We will meet once a week afterschool starting in October. I have a start up kit for those who don't know how to knit. If you already know how to knit, just bring the project you are currently working on or need help with. Come and check us out in room 418. Listen to A-Town live and look for flyers for the days we will meet or stop by room 418 for more information. |

La Sociedad Honoraria Hispanica - (Spanish Honor Society) Students must have a B or better average to be nominated. A yearly goal is to offer a scholarship at graduation through fund raising efforts. |

Life Savers - offers students the opportunity to promote drug-free living. All members make a pledge to remain drug-free for the school year and are involved in various projects which promote the concept of living drug-free in the high school, elementary schools and the community. Some of the projects that they have been involved in are: Red Ribbon Week, Great American Smoke-out, Cross-Age Teaching, Healthy Living Contracts and various holiday pledges. |

Manitou (yearbook) - students interested in joining the yearbook staff must apply in September for the present year's book. Manitou is one of three student publications for you to consider. Learn layout design, photographic composition and writing for this colorful keepsake. No previous yearbook experience is necessary. |

Optimist Club - is a community service club sponsored by the Sunrise Optimist Club of Freehold, New Jersey. The members provide opportunities for all students to work in many areas of need. Some of our activities are: tutoring, babysitting, Habitat for Humanity, Doorway to Hope and Trenton Area Soup Kitchen. |

The Outdoor Club - is open to all students. Students may pick and choose in which activities they would like to participate. Previous activities have included hiking, skiing, and going to the Rock Climbing Gym. Activities are held after school, on 1/2 school days or on Saturdays. New ideas and suggestions are always welcome. |

Robotics - . This extracurrilar activity is designed to generate enthusiasm for students who have an interest in the field of math, science and technology. There will be an opportunity to work side-by-side with mentors to creae robots for competitions in a hands-on environment, i.e., engineers, fabricators, electricians from the community. Students will be encouraged to pursue studies and careers in these fields. |

Symphonic Band - exposes the instrumental music student to the finest literature written for bands. The class meets daily during the school day with one additional Music Lab per week for small group instruction. The ensemble performs three concerts per year in the evening. |

Theatre Arts / Choir / Spring Musical Productions - Concert Choir is open to all students at Allentown High School. No audition is required. Auditions for the Spring Musical are open to all students. Additional positions for the Musical are in stage crew, costumes, make-up, lighting, etc. |

Travel Club - Travel Club is eligible to all students at AHS. This club meets weekly to discuss issues relating to foreign travel such as passports, currency exchange, packing light for travel, and shopping abroad. This club stresses how to be a "good tourist" greeting the world with respect and tolerance. |

Video/Multi-media Club - this club/homeroom consists of those students who auditioned and are interested in TV production and broadcasting. These students have to be dedicated, responsible, reliable and be team players. Students will serve different roles within the TV studio throughout the year based on performance, aptitude and contributions. Auditions are generally required. |
