The mission of the Allentown High School counseling program is to enable all students with their individual differences to acquire the edcational, career/vocational, and personal/social competencies necessary to function and contribute in a changing society, through the counseling of helping students, school staff, families, and members of the community by assisting them in making informed and responsible decisions. The school counseling program promotes school success through a focus on academic achievement, prevention, and intervention activities (American School Counselor Association, 1997).
