Scholarship Information - December 2008

The University of Delware Master Players Concert Series presents the Delaware National String Competition from February 18-20, 2009.  There are several levels of scholarships available.  All applications must be sent to the University of Delaware by January 25, 2009.  More information and applications is available at www.mpcs.music.udel.edu

AXA Achievement announces its Community Achievement Scholarship.  Application is based on participation in a non-academic activity or project.  Students may receive up to $2000.   Applications are due by February 15, 2009.   Applications and information is available at www.axa-achievement.com .  Select New Jersey, then Edison using the dropdown menus.

The Central Jersey Club of the National Association of Negro Business and Professional Women's Clubs, Inc. awards scholarships annually to deserving students attending high schools in Monmouth and Ocean counties.  Their goal is to assist students who will be matriculating full time at an accredited college or university beginning in September of the 2009-2010 academic year.  Applications are available in the Guidance Office.  Applications must be submitted with required documents by January 9, 2009.  Any questions may be directed to Mrs. Angela Wright Kulesz, Scholarship Chairperson, at 908-309-3821. 

Monsanto Company is please to announce that for the tenth consecutive year, Monsanto Company, in association with the National Association of Farm Broadcasting, will continue the annual Commitment to Agriculture Scholarship Program to award one-time scholarships of $1,500 to 100 high school seniors who plan to pursue a career in an agriculture-related field.  All applications must be submitted online by February 17, 2009 at either www.monsanto.com or www.ffa.org.  Applicants are NOT required to be an FFA member to apply.  Any questions should be difrected to the National FFA Center at 317-802-6060 or scholarships@ffa.org

Students planning to attend St. John's University in Staten Island or Queens, NY may be eligible to apply for their Catholic Student Scholarship.  Awards range from $1,500 to $2,500 based on demonstrated financial need.  Eligible applicants must be Roman Catholic, have a minimum 3.0 GPA and combined SAT score of at least 1050 in critical reading and math, and graduate high school by June 2009.  Applications are available in the Guidance Office.  Any questions should be directed to the St. John's University Office of Admission at (888) 9STJOHNS or admhelp@stjohns.edu.  The application deadline is February 1, 2009.  Also, students planning to attend the Queens campus may be eligble to apply for the Ozanam Scholars Program.  Eligible applicants must have an 85 grad point average and a minimum combined SAT score of 1050 (critical reading and math), as well as a documented dedication to serving the disadvantaged.  Applicants must include a separate service resume including the service agency served, hours, and dates.  Applications are available in Guidance.
