A Works Cited page is a listing of sources that you have cited in the body of your work, using parenthetical references.
A Works Consulted page is a listing of sources you have cited in the body of your work AND consulted when preparing your project.

Formatting Tips While You Type

  • Center the title, Works Cited or Works Consulted, an inch from the top of the page.
  • Double-space between the title and the first entry.
  • Begin each entry flush with the left margin: if an entry runs more than one line, indent subsequent line(s) 5 spaces from the left margin.
  • Alphabetize your list according to the first key word of each formatted entry, excluding A, An, and The.
  • Double space the entire list, both between and within entries.
