Things we are looking for in general:
- Good technique and craftsmanship
- Original ideas
- Evidence of experimentation
- Effort
Portfolio, consisting of 6-8 examples of work.
- Work created during the past year.
- Minimum of 2 different media (pencil, pain, clay, etc.)
- Minimum of one piece done outside of the classroom
- Minimum of one piece using color
- One self portrait
Short written artist's statement (one paragraph, minimum of five sentences) describing why applicant wants to be a part of the "academy".
Letter of Recommendation from current teacher.
